**Working for the Department of Medicine**

The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta with over 250 academic faculty members and over 400 trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and residents).The Department of Medicine's core mission is to undertake outstanding education, research and high-quality clinical care to provide the best possible health outcomes for Albertans. **Position Summary**

This position primarily takes place in the North Campus
- University of Alberta Hospital dialysis unit and Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic but will require travel to other dialysis units located at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital, West Edmonton Kidney Care and Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood.

**Duties**
- Reviews and adheres to multiple research protocols
- Assists with the recruitment and follow-up of study participants, including the completion of screening, consent, and case report forms
- Organizes hardcopy and computer files related to ongoing studies
- Records, accesses and transfers data from medical records to electronic database
- Assist systematic reviews by screening and extracting data from research articles
- Provides administrative support for presentations, publications, and reports

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education of a Bachelor' s degree in relevant field
- Experience with patient interaction and administration of questionnaires, dealing with patients, responding to study-related questions
- Intermediate level competency with MS Office (Word and Excel) and Adobe
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, timelines and a flexible work schedule
- Ability to work efficiently and in a professional and ethical manner
- Ability to work independently as well as with others on a team

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Experience in data management
- Familiar with retrieving patient information from patient charts
