1. Certification as a Health Care Aid, with no restrictions to practice- 2. Professional liability protection- 3. Current CPR- 4. Vulnerable Sector Screen renewed within the year**SKILLS & ABILITY**:
1. Ability to think critically and multitask in a high-pressure situation.
- 2. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member; establish and maintain
- cooperative and collaborative working relationships with members of the interdisciplinary team, and
- exercise judgment by participating in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of
- patient care according to college standards.
- 3. Behavior consistent with the hospital’s Standards of Performance.**BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Performs according to the Standards of Professional Practice set out by regulatory bodies, and in compliance with the policies, procedures and standards of the facility- 2. Accepts clinical responsibility and professional accountability for the care delivered to assigned
- patients.
- 3. Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, fulfilling responsibilities as a
- member of the nursing discipline.**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:
1. Participate and collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care.
- 2. Evaluates outcomes based on clinical skills/judgement and patient improvements.
- 3. Educate patients/ residents on preventative care and the need to adhere to prescribed treatments.
- 4. Carry out all work assignments safely and be knowledgeable of and in compliance with relevant
- regulations, policies and procedures in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and its
- regulations, as well as other legislation as applicable.**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
Must comply with:

- 1. Human Resource, Corporation, and Department Policies
- 2. Must provide satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- 3. Must maintain Health Care Aide License
