Good Shepherd Women’s Services homeless serving programs provide emergency residential support for cis women, trans, and non-binary individuals experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental health and substance use. The temporary emergency shelter overflow program supports individuals seeking emergency residential services and assists residents in securing more permanent housing outcomes.
The Program Manager is responsible for leadership and oversight of daily programming and overflow operations. The Program Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Women’s Services for program planning, design, implementation and evaluation of relevant quality improvement and strategic initiatives consistent with Accreditation requirements.
- Plays a key role in building relationships with local partners to advance integration of services and provide timely access to emergency residential services
- Provide expert advice and consultation in the areas of residential care, housing, individualized care plans and professional development to support quality initiatives
- Daily supervision of the West Avenue program operations including: scheduling, assessments, care planning, data collection, program reporting and administrative functions
- Provide direct support to client for the purpose of coordination, intake, referrals, assessment, care planning, evaluation and continuum of care.
- Effectively mentors’ staff by providing a work environment that fosters motivation and respectful relationships, and enables decision-making
- Actively engages in collaboration and community development by building and maintaining strong partnerships with community stakeholders
- Active participation in community committees, working groups and coalitions
- Participate in an on-call rotation for Women’s Services programs
**Qualifications**
- Completed post-secondary in a related field required
- A minimum of three years’ experience working with individuals in an emergency residential and/or housing and homelessness services
- Previous management experience in a social service setting with a demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and/or a combination of completed education and relevant professional experience
- Extensive knowledge of homelessness, poverty, mental health, substance use and violence against women
- Demonstrated ability to operate from a feminist, trauma-informed, anti-racist, anti-oppressive framework
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience navigating various community service systems.
- Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Fluency in a language in addition to English is an asset
