**Facilities Sub-Foreman**:
**Position** **Reports** **To**: Facilities Supervisor

**Position** **Summary**:
The Facilities Sub-Foreman is responsible for the ongoing maintenance, repair, and upkeep of Wheatland County buildings, facilities, and work sites including the Public Works Shop and Administration Office.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify potential issues, hazards, and required repairs.
- Perform general facility maintenance and repairs, including painting, minor drywall repair, cleaning, ceiling tile installation, basic carpentry, minor plumbing, landscape maintenance, and door lock replacement/repair.
- Assemble furniture and cabinetry for employee workspaces and offices
- Provide cost estimates for repairs, including medium and potentially larger projects involving repair or renovation of County buildings.
- Operate and maintain County generators, HVAC systems, fire pumps, and electrical and plumbing systems with proficiency.
- Perform snow removal on walkways of County buildings.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Wheatland County policies and bylaws.
- Maintain personal compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) requirements, including attendance at safety meetings, completion of required training, and safe work practices.
- Complete administrative tasks promptly and accurately, including time sheets and logs of maintenance and repair activities.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, ratepayers, and vendors; respond to inquiries and complaints in a timely and courteous manner.
- Perform tasks, consistent with the position, including special projects/assignments, as may be required, on an ad hoc basis

**Qualifications**:

- Journeyperson certification in a relevant trade preferred
- Minimum of 3-4 years of general maintenance experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a corporate/commercial office environment.
- Basic carpentry skills including ability to assemble products/furniture, etc.
- Knowledge of building heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
- Experience with water softening systems.
- Experience with irrigation pumps and valve systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s licence.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Ability to work accurately with mathematics, including percentages, calculating dosages and dilutions.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Effective organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with team members, the public, and County stakeholders.

**Working Conditions**:

- Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
- Occasional overtime or modified shifts, including evenings and weekends, may be required.
- Work is conducted in both office settings and on-site inspections, with travel between locations and exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Physical demands include moderate to heavy lifting, standing, walking, and other physical activities; must be able to lift up to 45 pounds throughout the workday.

Education : Other trades certificate or diploma
Experience : 3 years to less than 5 years
