**Activities Leader - Children’s Sports Relief - (1)**

**Children’s Basketball (3-5 years) -- 5:45 pm - 6:30pm (Mondays)**

**Children’s Basketball (6-10 years)-- 6:30 pm - 7:15pm (Mondays)**

**Children’s Basketball (3-5 years) -- 5:45 pm - 6:30pm (Fridays)**

**Children’s Basketball (6-10 years)-- 6:30 pm - 7:15pm (Fridays)**

**Children’s Soccer (4-5 years) -- 12:30 pm - 1:15pm (Saturdays)**

**Children’s Soccer (6-10 years)-- 1:30 pm - 2:15pm (Saturdays)**

SUMMARY:
To promote, plan, implement and maintain a supportive and creative environment for children and youth depending upon the requirements of the program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To assist in the promotion, planning and implementation of sports program for children and youth based upon program requirements and designated time period.

2. To assist in planning activities for the program on a weekly basis that are best suited to individual and group needs of the children and youth while balancing social emotional, physical and cognitive activities.

3. To provide a supportive, creative, and safe environment for children that will create opportunities for positive growth and development.

4. To maintain daily records, attendance, permission forms, etc.

5. To provide supervision of the children in all activities in the location and on field trips, being aware of safety and supervision issues at all times.

6. To communicate with parents of children enrolled in the program in order to update them on activities and future plans.

7. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

- Experience working with children from diverse backgrounds and related Education.
- Proven ability to promote, plan, implement and maintain age-appropriate programming and behavior best suited to individual and group needs.
- Experience in working with, students, volunteers and encouraging parental input.
- Current CPR and First Aid required.
- Coaching certification an asset.
- Vulnerable Sector Screening - Police Reference Check

**Salary Scale**:Wage Grade 1 - Step 1 ($17.20/hour + 4% vacation pay)

This position is a unionized position with CUPE Local 2998

**Hours**:1-3 hrs/ per week - and relief as required.

**Start Date**:September 8th, 2025
