We are seeking _**Temporary **_**Part-time** **Personal Support Workers **for **Day, Evening **and **Night **shifts in our long-term care home Our Nursing team provides direct person-centred care to 121 residents in 5 neighborhoods (units). **RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assists residents with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, baths and showers, personal grooming (hair, shave, makeup), continence programs, dining and refreshments, transfers, and transport to meals and activities, as required by the care plan.
- Engages residents in therapeutic, restorative and activity programs as required, and provides special care to residents at the instruction of R.N. or R.P.N. in charge.
- Ensures resident rooms are clean and tidy by making residents’ beds daily, placing laundered clothes and linens in appropriate storage areas, and regularly cleaning bedside equipment, wheelchairs, and Geri-chairs as needed and weekly.
- Participates in committees to optimize resident care, in-services and continuing education, and RAI/MDS charting requirements.
- Ensures privacy, dignity, confidentiality and Health and Safety of residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors are maintained by following proper practices and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents in the Home.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Holds a current and valid **Health Care Aide **or **Personal Support Worker Certificate **from a recognized educational facility with formalized training and related experience.
- **Currently enrolled and completed at least one year of Nursing Studies** with an accredited Canadian education institution.
- **Internationally trained Registered Nurse **with experience providing direct care to geriatric and/or vulnerable populations.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, and able to follow instructions.
- Communicates clearly and effectively in verbal and written English.
- Patient and empathetic in listening to others.
- Manages, organizes, and prioritizes time and resources effectively.
- Exhibits a professional and positive attitude.
- Proficient computer literacy, able to access and enter medical information into Electronic Medical Records system.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous work experience providing direct care as a PSW in a Long-Term Care facility.
- Knowledge of practices and traditions of the Jewish religion is considered an asset.
