The Ministry of the Solicitor General facility includes a 100 bed Secure Treatment Unit (STU) to service the needs of incarcerated offenders with mental illness; and the STU has been designated a Schedule 1 facility under the Mental Health Act by the Minister of Health and Long Term Care.

**Duties***:

- Work collaboratively, cooperatively and effectively with the multidisciplinary team in a Secure Treatment Unit setting
- Complete assessment (the DAST/MAST, DTCQ, ADS, and other relevant assessment tools) and for each resident on assigned units.
- Provide input to interdisciplinary detailed discharge plan to support residents’ needs
- Clinical documentation of all clinical interventions.
- Provide relapse prevention programs (individual and/or group)
- Facilitate the Substance Abuse Program in a group format.
- Regular consultations with the clinical psychologist to discuss clinical interventions and assessments.
- Provide evaluation of programs offered (Pre/Post Test)
- Provide monthly statistics on programs (total hours of each program, total participants, evaluation outcome summary)
- Maintain knowledge and skill in addictions counseling and concurrent disorders
- To work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient/client safety practices, policies and procedures of the ROHCG.
- To ensure a work environment that is conducive to The Royal’s Anti-Racism, Harassment, & Discrimination Free Workplace Policy.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelors Degree in Social or Health Sciences from an accredited university in a related field. Formal substance abuse and concurrent disorder education/training/experience- Addictions Studies Certificate or ICADC equivalent (education, experience, and supervised clinical practice)- Registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)- Proven interpersonal, group and communication skills- Able to work independently as well as in partnership with colleagues- Proven ability to work as an interdisciplinary team member- Sound clinical judgement, critical thinking and problem solving skills- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable legislation (eg. Mental Health Act, PHILPA)- Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check for Vulnerable sector-
- Dress code is professional attire- English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading comprehension and written expression. Bilingual is an asset.

**Salary Range**:
