Residential Millwork Draftsperson

New West Luxury Homes is seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join our team as an in-house Millwork Designer. The Millwork Designer is a key role responsible for collaborating with clients to translate their vision into unique, tailored home designs. This position requires a combination of design expertise, client engagement skills, and project coordination to ensure seamless communication between clients and the construction team throughout the custom home building process. You’re technical, organized and detail oriented. **Key Roles and Responsibilities** **Client Consultation**: - Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their vision, preferences, and requirements for their luxury home design. - Collaborate closely with clients to translate their ideas into tangible design concepts. **Client Presentations**: - Create visually compelling presentations to showcase design proposals, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings. - Facilitate client feedback sessions and revisions to ensure alignment with their vision. **Team Collaboration**: - Work closely with construction team, interior designers, and other members of the design team to develop comprehensive and detailed plans for construction. - Create PO’s for all millwork materials needed for in-house designs (including all relevant hardware and accessories) - As needed, attend project meetings to ensure seamless communication and understanding between design and construction teams. - Ensure seamless communication and coordination between the client and the construction team. - Serve as a liaison between clients and construction teams, conveying design specifications, preferences, and any modifications required during the construction phase. **Selection Facilitation**: - Create and maintain millwork standards documentation. - Ensure millwork selections match finishing selections. - Guide clients through the selection process for finishes, materials, and other customization options, as needed and provide expert advice and recommendations based on the client's preferences and design goals. - Price and get client sign-off on millwork selections and Change Orders, as required. - Create unique & leading edge millwork designs **Client Relationship Management**: - Maintain strong relationships with clients throughout the design process. - Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a proactive and professional manner. **Qualifications & Skills we value**: A minimum of 3 years of residential drafting experience in the Canadian construction industry Experience with and thorough knowledge of SketchUp is required. Experience with and knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is considered an asset Experience with residential built-in millwork considered an asset A proven track record of innovative interior details and elevation designs Strong communication skills and the ability to work and mentor within a team Strong knowledge in structural design A high attention to detail and thirst for learning new skills A solid understanding of the residential construction processes, building materials, permit processes, etc. A self-starter attitude with a "can-do' attitude to problem-solving Highly organized, excellent time management skills Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - On-site parking - Vision care Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed **Experience**: - construction: 3 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
