Server (Temporary Spring/summer Contract)

Parallel 49 Brewing Company is a key player in the rapidly growing craft beer industry in British Columbia. We are East Van local and are committed to creating high quality products for our customers locally and across North America.

We're hiring a number of full-time or part-time, temporary Street Kitchen Servers to join our team The position is temporary and would be available mid-April until October 8th.

Servers are the first point of contact for the brewery’s patrons, and are responsible for upholding the Parallel 49 culture, along with guest experiences in the tasting room. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, a positive, customer-oriented attitude, and a love of craft beer. This position may be scheduled in our street kitchen tasting room or in the beer store.

**Street Kitchen Duties...**
- Setting up the restaurant to be service ready (following the opening checklist)
- Greeting and signing in guests at the door
- Seating guests
- Taking guests orders, including their name and assigning their table number for food.
- Handling customer transactions/gift card payments
- Using product knowledge to aid guests for their best experience
- Rinsing glassware and pouring drinks and flights
- Calling guest’s drinks for inside on the bar
- Running out drinks to the street patio
- Changing kegs
- Recording any beer waste/newly tapped purge waste and initialing
- Food running and Expo, making sure to set guests up with proper amounts of cutlery/napkins/plates
- Ensuring guests receive their food and drink in a timely manner
- Re-stocking the food pass when supplies are low
- Supplying extra water/cutlery/napkins etc. upon request
- Clearing and cleaning tables/bar top/chairs and plexiglass with the appropriate cleaning chemicals
- Returning dirty dishes to the bus bins and dirty glassware to the dishwasher
- Cleaning and putting away used table numbers and empty flights/glassware
- Completing the hourly cleaning checklist (includes checking bathrooms)
- Refilling soaps/toilet paper/paper towels when needed
- Bringing cloths and extra dry stock down from upstairs when needed
- Completing extra cleaning duties during slow periods
- Taking out garbage/recycling/organic waste when needed and at the end of the night
- Opening and closing duties as required

**Beer Store Duties...**
- Full service retrieving packaged product for guests and handling their transaction
- Taking Gift card payments/Loading Gift cards
- Keeping fridges and selves faced and stocked
- Monitoring fridge temperatures and keeping fridges clean
- Organizing and putting away the pack order
- Ensuring packaged product is properly rotated by date
- Updating the iPad when items are out of stock/new items received
- Fill and punch in Uber Eats and Skip The Dishes orders
- Taking payments and deposits and properly filing paperwork for keg rentals
- Retrieving pumps/tubs for keg rentals and putting away keg and equipment returns
- Answering phone calls and helping guests to the best of your ability
- Re-stocking bags and pak-tech rings
- Keeping the bathroom storage closet organized
- Documenting damaged pack and taking it to the warehouse at the end of the night
- Taking out garbage and cardboard at the end of shift/as needed
- Cleaning and sanitation of work area throughout the day

**Qualifications...**
- Previous experience as a server in a restaurant or taproom setting preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of different beer styles and the brewing process preferred, but not required
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
