**BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB PURPOSE**:
**DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Protects and maintains strict confidentiality of the company, its products, formulations, and processes along with the personal information of all staff members;

- Raise and care for a variety of plant species (e.g., tomato, lettuce);
- Seed plants at regular intervals to maintain healthy plant populations for experiments;
- Ensure that all plants are healthy and protected against unwanted infection by either pathogenic microorganisms or insects;
- Carry out analysis accurately following study protocol;
- Document data in laboratory notebook and summarize results in study reports;
- Frequent sampling of plants and handling of product prototypes;
- Use soil and wash grow trays and pots as required;
- Other related duties as assigned;
- **Quality / ISO**_
- Works in an ISO certified company and complies with all applicable ISO requirements including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and quality assurance measures;
- Identifies non-conformances and reports them to direct report.
- **Safety**_
- Adheres to all work safe requirements as applicable.
- **Misc. Duties**_
- Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

**KEY QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A diploma or Bachelor of Science student in Biology;
- Specialization in plant biology is an asset;
- Prior hands-on experience with growing and caring for plants is an asset;
- Knowledge of plant diseases and insects is an asset;
- Good organizational skills and proficient is the use Microsoft Excel for data analysis is required;
- Ability to execute and complete projects on time;
- Strong written and oral communications skills;
- Willingness to work with soil, clean and sanitize pots and discard compost is required.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 20-24 per week

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Delta, BC V4G 0A5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

**Experience**:

- plant physiology: 1 year (preferred)
