Toronto, Canada Intellifi Corporation Full time

As the Manager of CGHLI Underwriting, you will lead and manage a team of Underwriters across Canada. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate adjudication and closing of loans, in addition to maintaining service level agreements, resolving escalations, and working with our partners to build out processes and identify best practices.

The Manager is fully supported by up to three team leads and will lead a team of 20-30 underwriters. The Manager will work directly with the Servicing Manager and report to the Director of Residential Services.

**Role and Responsibilities**:
Management**:

- Manage resources to effectively distribute work between team members to meet or exceed established SLA’s
- Ensure that team members understand and adhere to all applicable policies and guidelines
- Identify best practices and opportunities to improve internal processes and procedures
- Maintain up to date knowledge of Intellifi policies and procedures
- Handle escalations and ensure that the appropriate resolution is provided
- Build, analyze and monitor portfolio performance reports to identify trends and develop action plans as needed (staffing and business metrics, etc.)
- Participate in audits and QA reviews
- Provide leadership, motivation, and inspiration to team members in order to promote the achievement of goals and objectives
- Work with the Director to develop and implement appropriate objectives, metrics and performance standards for team members
- Participate in the internal hiring and performance review processes
- Identify performance gaps and develop performance improvement plans as needed
- Develop staff, identifying opportunities for growth, providing suitable career paths, and building bench strength for the organization

Training Provided**:

- Full training of the program and guidelines is provided by our in-house training team.
- Peer training is provided by the Director of Residential Services.

**Requirements**:
**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 3 years of management experience in credit, loan or mortgage underwriting environment
- Minimum of 3 years of underwriting / adjudication experience in credit, loan or mortgages.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain a positive team environment
- Proven ability to work in a very high volume and fast paced environment
- Proven ability to implement and manage change initiatives
- Passion and willingness to coach and mentor staff
- Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact in decision making process
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Highly organized with experience managing projects, team workflows and day-to-day activities
