The Opportunity
Under the Fund Oversight Division, the Risk Specialist within the Risk Department will provide services that assist management in proactively identifying and monitoring risks for all aspects of Fidelity’s business.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Manager of Risk Management, the Risk Specialist conducts ongoing monitoring/oversight, supports the implementation of new risk programs, and provides regular detailed reporting.- Effectively maintain Risk Management Programs on a day to day basis in order to identify, monitor and evaluate risk. Programs include but are not limited to Risk and Control Self Assessments, Risk Event Management, Records Management, Control Testing and Ad-hoc Risk Assessments.- Assist business units and the risk management team conducts risk assessments and control testing across the organization. This includes assessing design and operating effectiveness of controls. Assists business units to identify risk and ensures appropriate mitigation.- Contribute to the development of best practices and enhancement to the program.- Participate in ad-hoc projects and initiatives as they arise.
What We’re Looking For- Completed Bachelor’s degree- 2+ years of experience in the financial services industry, with exposure to risk management or governance and oversight- Experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business processes, an asset- Experience in Data Analytics using Power BI is an asset- Mutual fund operations (transfer agency) experience, an asset
What You Will Bring- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation, and social skills- Good understanding of risk management principles- Strong analytical, research, and investigatory skills- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint- Ability to take initiative, work independently, and multi-task- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and deliver under pressure- Dedication to excellence and delivering quality results
- Current work authorization for Canada is required for all openings._
