Bakery Clerk

**About us**

Lucio's Bakery specializes in European handmade breads, pastries and savories made daily from scratch.

The Bakery Clerk is the first point of contact with the bakery customers. Clerks will answer the business phone, serve customers, stock shelves and coolers with bakery products, perform cleaning duties and other duties as requested by the baker.

**Duties**:
Provide services as required and directed by the Employer, including, but not limited to, the following:

- Welcome customers and respond to their questions regarding bakery products; answer the phone and take orders
- Assist customers in selecting bakery products
- Wrap items selected by customers so that they can be transported safely
- Arrange freshly baked goods neatly on shelves and in display cases
- Ring customers’ sales and take cash and process credit / debit cards in exchange of items sold
- Make coffee and monitor coffee station making sure carafes don’t go empty
- At the end of the day wrap up and refrigerate all items that are not sold. Left over bread can go in the 2 for 1 freezer
- Wash dishes
- Sweep and mop floors; vacuum carpets
- Sanitize tables and countertops in customer area; wipe down all cooler handles, clean display coolers

Fold boxes and insert paper in preparation
- Clean washroom and make sure there is enough paper towel in dispense
- Take out any garbage that is in the public area (baker will take out production area garbage)
- Assistance with maintaining and ordering supplies;
- Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

- Basic knowledge of bakery products
- Good customer service skills
- Food preparation experience
- Cleaning experience
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and staff
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team
- Able to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour
