As a Cook at The Piping Kettle, you will learn our secret soup recipes and receive hands-on training on how to cook each recipe to perfection. We are looking for dedicated, friendly and passionate people who know the secret ingredient to any good recipe is “love”.

Please note: our cooks are also expected to help serve customers.

**What Your Day Looks Like**

**Schedule**

May include the following shifts, Mon-Sun, up to 40 hours per week:

- 1pm-9pm Afternoon Cook
- 8am-2pm, 9am-5pm Prep Cook / Serving shift
- 6am-2pm Morning Cook

**Cook / Kitchen Duties**
- Prepare high-quality hot and cold foods according to recipes developed by our Corporate Chef.
- Manage food preparation tasks, including organizing all food prep stations to ensure a smooth and efficient flow in the kitchen.
- Perform dishwashing duties to maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen environment
- Ensure that inventory of supplies is completed regularly, and items required are in-stock.
- Ensure deliveries are stored in their proper place and in a timely manner.
- Ensure all kitchen areas are kept organized and clean, including storage shelves, hallways, work surfaces, walk-ins, refrigerators and coolers.

**Serving**
- Welcome each customer and answer questions about the daily menu.
- Serve soups and salads; prepare sandwiches and smoothies.
- Work fast-paced lunch and dinner rushes that make the time fly.
- Maintain high quality standards, cleaning, and restocking.

**Requirements**:

- You can work independently or as part of a small team.
- You take pride in cooking and nourishing your community.
- You have a great attitude and good organizational skills.
- You have experience as a cook.
- Have a flexible work schedule.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Strong communication skills.
- Work well under pressure.
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
- Continuous standing/walking for all tasks; lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
- Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping.

**Reports to: Kitchen Manager/ Store Owner**

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 - 44 per week
