**Position Summary**

Magellan Aerospace, Haley is seeking a Junior Metallurgist. Reporting to the Plant Metallurgist, the successful incumbent will support melting, heat treatment, welding and chemical processing and laboratory functions. Other duties include the purchase of new material, and the control of exist re-met and scrap.

**Essential Responsibilities**
- Support the supervision of the laboratory
- Assist the Plant Metallurgist with melting, heat treatment, welding and chemical processing and laboratory functions.
- Represent Magellan Aerospace, Haley for all foundry related special process audits.
- Purchase new material, control of existing re-melt and scrap.
- Participate in continuous improvement of lab and melt department. melting, heat treatment, welding and chemical processing and laboratory functions.

**Position Requirements**
- Post-Secondary Education in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering from a recognized university or college.
- Experience with Solid Works, AutoCAD, and metal solidification simulation software (MAGMA) will be considered an asset.
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate motivate and develop teamwork.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to achieve objectives and goals within tight deadlines with mínimal supervision.
