We are known for the great care we take with clients and employees alike. *** As a Production Scheduler, you will develop detailed production schedules in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager to ensure line capacity, labour and materials are available to meet those plans. You will be responsible for developing daily and weekly production schedules at least 3 weeks in advance, based on approved sales forecasts/activities and defined inventory levels minimizing the number of revisions to the production schedule. You work with supply chain planning, purchasing, production, and shipping to expedite protein, ingredients and products through the supply chain to achieve on-time delivery and a target of >95% adherence to the daily and weekly locked-in production schedule that keeps finished products within approved min/max levels. You will review key performance indices such as run time efficiencies, schedule conformance and fill rates to identify opportunities for continuous improvement to create value for our team and our customers. **PRIORITY** You will be responsible for addressing operational constraints, maximizing runtimes and optimizing production schedules in order to ensure our customer fulfillment commitments are met. Your goal is to optimize all lines, level production staff and minimize changeovers. You promote a healthy work culture and see plant and employee safety and health as priority. **REPORTING STRUCTURE** This position is a direct report to the Supply Chain Manager. **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES**: - Create and submit purchase orders based on established lead times and follow up with suppliers for assigned categories (ie. protein, packaging and/or consumables) to support the schedule. - Be informed of any protein, packaging or consumable shorts and/or change in delivery which will impact schedules. - Works closely with the Supply Chain Manager and Production Manager to communicate adjustments to schedule due to material availability and/or line downtime (risk of protein not being cooked). - Attend daily or weekly meetings as requested to update Production of material availability. - Follow up of protein orders to match the production schedule and open POs. - With the Supply Chain Manager maintain master build schedule for production schedules based on MRP (at least 12 weeks rolling to provide adequate lead time to plan, order and receive ingredients and protein). - Request and/or lock-in assigned materials scheduled 3 weeks in advance to avoid changes as part of the schedule conformance targets. - Lead the weekly production plan review and alignment meetings to review and refine the weekly production schedules with the: Plant Manager, Supply Chain Manager, and Production Manager to confirm availability of required inputs, including protein, ingredients, packaging and labor, and minimize the changes to locked-in production schedules. - Lock-in weekly production schedules at least 3 weeks in advance of production and minimize changes to the schedule during the lock-in period. - Attend daily meetings with the: Plant Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Production Manager, Maintenance Manager and Production Supervisors in order to communicate the schedule and help manage requests to adjust the schedule (e.g. in response to unscheduled mechanical downtime or protein shorts). - Compile information from Supervisors at periodic intervals throughout the day, including production rates and progress. - Confer with the Plant Buyer(s) and Inventory Coordinator to co-ordinate production requests. - Work with the Plant Buyer(s) and Inventory Coordinator to ensure the right ingredients, packaging and protein quantities are ordered with sufficient lead time to support scheduled production and avoid stock outs. - Identify, document and share suggestions for improvements to systems and processes, and participate in root cause analysis sessions with the goal to increase effectiveness and productivity through continuous improvement. - Support Plant Buyer(s) and Inventory Coordinator during peak periods by performing MRP reviews, writing PO’s and following up with vendors. - Prepare and monitor KPI’s, including daily schedule conformance, weekly schedule conformance, protein requests and their fulfillment, adherence to economic batch quantity targets, and change over percentage. - Coordinate with Shipping and Receiving Manager on protein Supply Chain Transfers - inventory movements to external 3PL and interplant transfers - Perform other related duties as assigned. **REQUIRED SKILL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**: - Possession of Diploma or post-secondary qualification in
