**Position Title**: Investment Operations Specialist
**Reports To**: Manager, Investments Operations
**Department**: Investment Technology & Operations
**Term**: Temporary Full-Time, Twelve (12) Month Contract
**Work Arrangements**: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
**The Opportunity**: Are you an experienced fund accountant? Do you pride yourself on your ability to communicate effectively and build relationships? Do you have experience with the PAM investment system (or similar)? If so, you would be a great fit for our Investment Operations Specialist opportunity.
**What you will be doing**:

- Daily valuation of the segregated funds
- Bank and general ledger reconciliation
- Processing segregated fund trades, distributions, and income
- Processing general fund trades and income related to short-term investments, bonds, preferred shares, linked accounts, direct equities and private placements
- First compliance check of trades against investment policies
- Communicate with other areas of the company as well as external parties, for example, external fund managers

**What you will bring**:

- Previous investment back-office experience including segregated or mutual funds
- Knowledge and experience in accounting and financial reporting
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Sound day-to-day time management skills in a fast paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle issues as they arise, knowing when to escalate critical ones
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work during evenings on a rotational basis
- Knowledge and experience with investment administration systems
- Knowledge of Pam for Investments, RBC Investor Services, PeopleSoft, Fundserv, RBC Express would be an asset
- Experience with private placements would be an asset
- Ability to work evenings on a rotational basis
