**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Join our team as a Personal Support Worker and make a meaningful difference in the lives of clients by providing compassionate, people-centered care. Working closely with Registered Nurses and Practical Nurses, you will support clients’ physical, emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual well-being every day. Be a vital part of our collaborative Interprofessional Team, contributing to personalized care plans that truly respect each client’s unique needs and preferences all within a supportive environment.

**WHAT YOU BRING**

Education/Experience:
- Valid Personal Support Worker certificate and registration or the ability to become registered with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority; OR demonstrated enrollment in a nursing program
- Demonstrated experience and interest in working with senior populations, including providing end-of-life care
- Previous experience in long-term care or with alternate level of care populations is preferred

Skills/Abilities:

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as critical thinking and problem-solving abilities relative to the situation and scope of practice
- Demonstrated commitment to people-centered care
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Assets:

- Certification relevant to practice setting (i.e. Gerontology, Dementia, Palliative Care), including training in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) and U-First is an asset
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory **Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)**where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
