About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Database Administrator to join our team In this role, you will be responsible for administering the Microsoft Azure database environments including the SQL Server database. You will manage multiple product lifecycle environments, overseeing their status from development to mission-critical production systems.
As Junior Database Administrator, you will configure and maintain database servers and processes including monitoring the health of the system and overall performance. In this role, you will account for any inefficiencies and mitigate issues as needed ensuring that high levels of performance are met as well as security of all systems.

About Your Day
- Manage and administer Azure database environments of SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
- Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance
- Administer Azure SQL DB, Azure SQLDB for MySQL, Azure CosmosDB and any related components
- Manage and maintain Azure Data factory resources
- Routinely refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
- Manage and ensures compliance with database backup strategies
- Troubleshoot system problems as they arise and ensure system problems are documented
- Analyze and implement optimization enhancements in databases using Log Analytics and Intelligence performance within Azure
- Deployment of projects and solutions into production Azure database resources
About You
- Completed Post-Secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or related areas OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of experience of MS SQL Server production support in a mission critical environment, Microsoft Azure SQL DBs
- Experience managing, monitoring and deploying Azure SQLDB
- Experience with analysis and tuning of T-SQL queries to improve performance
- Familiarity with basic server troubleshooting in a Microsoft Azure environment
- Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Azure CosmosDB and PowerShell Automation is an asset.
- Ability to plan and problem solve in a fast paced, dynamic environment
