**The role**:A great opportunity has become available to join our Edmonton team as a **Industrial Sewing Machine Operator**. **In this role, you will operate an industrial sewing machines to join canvas, tarp, and other industrial fabrics in order to produce tents, rig tarps, insulated blankets, and various custom products.

**Hours : 7:30am to 4:00pm, overtime available**

**Job Duties**

  • Operate single, double, and multi-needle sewing machines to produce tents, rig tarps and insulated blankets
  • Read blueprints and follow work instructions in order to sew fabric
  • Inspect own work in order to find and correct defects, damages, or errors
  • Ensure sewing machine is in proper working order
  • Verify fabrics, threads, and parts; move/handle materials as required

**Requirements**

  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines such as Singer, Union Special, Brother, Juki, and Consew an asset
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination
  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English in order to communicate effectively

**Work Conditions**

  • Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm; occasional overtime may be required
  • sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, stooping, and pushing/pulling
  • Will be required to lift/move objects weighing up to 10 lbs on a regular basis
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Area is well-ventilated, but there may be occasional exposure to uncommon odours from different fabrics
