**How will this role support our team?**

The Instructor facilitates courses and assesses learner competence through our competency-based curriculum and a variety of assessment and scoring tools. The Instructor is responsible for ongoing curriculum revision and support in all aspects of the implementation of the Practice Management Education (PME), Specialization Program (SP), and other professional development programs as required.

Individuals with the following backgrounds are encouraged to apply:

- Knowledge and experience with the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB)
- Former instructors of the Immigration Practitioner Program (IPP)
- Persons with law degrees
- Teaching, training or coaching experience with post-secondary or professional programs
- Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset

**Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)**
- Facilitate live, virtual classrooms and tutorials.
- Contribute to the planning, design, revision, development and delivery of the curriculum in an online and an instructor-led learning environment.
- Support the development and delivery of presentations on the College’s programs to education providers and other stakeholders.
- Respond to a wide array of questions from learners on an ongoing basis.
- Provide input into foundational documents.
- Contribute to the quality assurance process for all PME, SP and other programs study materials to ensure programs and content are current and of high quality.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the annual work plan for the Department in education and professional development.

**This role will support our team by providing**:

- Knowledge of Canadian Immigration Law, the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_ (IRPA) and the _Citizenship Act_
- Knowledge of competency-based education and assessment and adult learning principles
- Time management, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced changing environment as a collaborative team player who demonstrates initiative
- Interpersonal and facilitation skills to monitor and influence learner engagement and adjust teaching methods accordingly
- Verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills to speak and present conceptual and practical aspects of the curriculum to learners while respecting diverse backgrounds, experience and individual learning needs

**Required Education and Experience**
- University Degree (Bachelor) in adult education, social sciences, business administration, law, or related field
- 5 to 7 years of adult teaching experience (classroom and online)
