We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager & Estimator to join our company. They will work alongside the owner and office manager to organize, manage, and maintain project progress and the service department as well as estimating.
**Job Summary**:
The Electrical Project Manager & Estimator will be responsible for overseeing the estimation and management of electrical projects from start to finish. We are looking for someone experienced in electrical estimating and project management, with a strong background in managing a team of electricians and subcontractors.
**Responsibilities**:
- Prepare detailed cost and budget estimates and risk analysis by analyzing project documents, drawings and specs.
- Create and submit accurate and competitive quotes to customers.
- Develop electrical designs and plans, coordinate with owners and engineers.
- Coordinate and close out RFI’s (Requests for Information).
- Price and coordinate materials with distributers.
- Material procurement and detailed shop drawing review and analysis.
- Manage project timeline: Planning, preparing, and monitoring schedule to ensure projects complete on-time and within budget.
- Manage change orders throughout project.
- Communicate regularly with project foreman regarding materials, delivery, manpower, schedule changes, etc.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure future business prospects.
- Supervise electricians and subcontractors on the job, ensuring safety standards are maintained.
- Monitor, review, and provide feedback on the completion of daily pre-job hazard assessments forms.
- Conduct jobsite progress meetings with clients, contractors, subcontractors as required, to ensure project requirements are met.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of 5 years as an Estimator/Project Manager in the electrical industry, with previous experience in a combination of commercial, industrial & residential construction.
- Alberta/Interprovincial Electrical Journeyman Certificate.
- Experience working with Trimble/Accubid or other estimating software a must.
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
- Experience in Jobber software an asset.
- Ability to work as a team or independently, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects at once.
- Strong leadership, communication, and skills working with people and teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated, strong work ethic, desire to excel in professional development.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Wage will be dependent on applicant’s experience and ambition.
