**Street Outreach Worker**
**Duties**:
- Provide first point contact intake for youth (16-22) in our community identified as homeless or vulnerably housed.
- Discuss housing options in the community and identify requires emergency supports (i.e. rapid response bed).
- Identify healthy connections, relationships, or influences in youths' lives and assist the youth in strengthening these supports.
- Assist clients in: finding and accessing appropriate services and resources, identify barriers, and advocate for reintegration into the education or vocational sector.
- Meet regularly with clients to assess progress and adjust program as necessary.
- Liaise between project service providers.
- Participate in case conference with community agencies on behalf of youth
- Accompany clients to appointments where appropriate, a reliable, insured vehicle is a must;
- Provide client/landlord mediation services to client in unstable/room house situations facing eviction to prevent, if possible, the eviction;
- Accept referrals from the faith community, Social Development, Horizon Health and other community partners;
- Liaise with other partners and agencies to encourage the use of the outreach Hub;
- Conduct outreach activities to promote and raise awareness about our organization's programs and services;
- Engage with individuals and communities to build relationships and provide information on available resources;
- Collaborate with team members to develop and implement outreach strategies and initiatives;
**Education and knowledge**:
- Diploma in a related human, social services field.
- Valid Drivers’ License, Class 5 with a clean abstract.
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in outreach or community engagement roles is preferred
- Strong public speaking skills with the ability to effectively communicate information to diverse audiences
- Experience in supervising or leading teams is a plus
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute outreach initiatives
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis techniques
- Ability to recruit and engage individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate others towards a common goal
- Knowledge community needs is beneficial
- Administrative skills, including record keeping, report writing, and basic computer proficiency

**Salary**: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
