**About the Opportunity**:
The Social Worker provides a range of social work services to patients of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Unit. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker provides psychosocial support to patients and families as they cope with chronic, acute or terminal illness. Responsible for assessment, identification of unmet needs, and care/service planning and implementation for patients of SMRH, the Social Worker provides services in accordance with the policies of NSHA and the regulations, standards of practice, and Code of Ethics of the profession of Social Work.

- Commitment to maintain and protect patient, client, and personal safety on an ongoing basis
- Commitment to confidentiality and privacy of NSHA patients and clients
- Annually access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety made available by NSHA
- The successful applicant will have a commitment to the mission and values of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
- Successful Applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) to Human Resources before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.
**Hours**:
- Long Assignment Full-Time Position (100%)/ 75 Hours Bi-weekly
**Compensation and Incentives**:
$ 33.80- $42.68 Hourly
