Corporate Actuary

Insurance Supermarket, a rapidly growing its USA and Canadian individual insurance sales that it administers post-sale. They finance their operations by securitizing a portion of their cashflows with reinsurers and other securitization counterparties. We seek an experienced actuary, reporting to the CFO, who will articulate and implement the actuarial control cycle within ISI and help with the management and analysis of our securitization process.

**Job Duties**
- Articulate the specific elements and structure of the actuarial control cycle for Insurance Supermarket.
- Design management and operational reports for monitoring and addressing risks on multiple time scales (days to decades).
- Maintain a repository of third party and market studies that support macroeconomic impacts on lapse rates.
- Conduct and regularly update experience studies of policyholder behavior, intermediary behavior, and mortality.
- Maintain market benchmarking on lapse rates and how they compare to Insurance Supermarket's when factoring in differences due to demographics and distribution channels.
- Conduct and regularly update expense analyses and studies.
- Project expenses based on company growth into new product lines or geographies.
- Project company cash flows based on assumptions of policyholder behavior, mortality, and expenses.
- Conduct sensitivity testing, identify risks, and recommend risk mitigation approaches to Insurance Supermarket operations.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements with a focus on revenue assumptions.
- Monitor the performance of the existing securitization book.
- Develop proposals and interact with securitization partners for purposes of entering into new securitization transactions.
- Interact with external parties, such as consulting actuaries and rating agencies, to communicate the unique context and strength of Insurance Supermarket's risk monitoring and capitalization approach.
**Requirements**:
- Fellow of the SOA or CIA.
- 5 years of experience in a corporate actuarial function.
- Understanding of the actuarial control cycle.
- Excellent mathematical, modeling, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with experience studies methodologies.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player.
