**Job Summary**
Installation sheet metal workers **put in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) ducts**. They also install other sheet metal products, such as metal roofs, siding, and gutters. They typically work on new construction and on renovation projects.

**Duties**
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, welding, soldering and similar equipment to fabricate products such as ventilation shafts, exhaust hoods, partition frames, air and heat ducts, material handling systems
- comfortable working on steel roofs and installing steel roofs
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and building codes
- Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
- Inspect product quality and installation to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Read engineering and architectural drawings, sketches and work specifications to be performed, and lay out, measure and mark sheet metal according to drawings or templates
- Self-motivated leader with a strong work ethic; strong ability to lead and mentor apprentices **Ability to read and understand blueprints**:

- Physically demanding work environment requiring a strong manual dexterity

**Qualifications**
- Strong understanding of basic math principles for accurate measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints effectively.
- Experience with welding techniques is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Pay: $25.00-$48.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
