Your role
We are looking for Videographer to work at our Winnipeg station for Radio-Canada Manitoba. As Videographer, you will perform tasks as a specialist in production, contributing creatively to programming by frequently composing distinctive visuals within the scope and time constraints of the program. You will work primarily for news and current affairs programs. Work is generally performed according to accepted CBC/Radio-Canada or industry standards, but there is latitude for independent action, judgment and initiative. Duties are performed under the direction of program or other personnel, but there may be requirements to work without immediate supervision. Work is usually performed within established program formats and under high pressure.
Key tasks:
- Prepare, align and set up field cameras, ensuring optimum visual and technical quality under prevailing conditions-
- Deliver all recorded materials and perform editing- In the field, perform basic maintenance on equipment- Shoot stills and video for our digital platforms- Search for archive footage as required for production- Digitizing video material or media transfers (photos, videos, YouTube, downloading music or content on Instagram).
As assigned or required, may perform any or all of the following tasks:- Contribute to social media.- Craft stories, working with other team members.- Perform radio presentation and technical assistance for television and digital.- Depending on your skills, help produce infographic content.
Objective criteria:
- Technical knowledge and understanding of daily television and digital program production methods, including an understanding of picture composition and single-camera lighting, as well as digital production in both horizontal and vertical formats.- Knowledge generally gained through community college graduation in television arts, or equivalent industry experience- Six months to one year of specialized experience in the news field or remote broadcasting.- Ability to edit recorded items on appropriate/available editing systems, such as Avid Media Composer, Avid NewsCutter, Apple iMovie, Final Cut Pro, vMix or Adobe Premiere Pro, an asset.- Good oral and written language skills (English and French).- Valid driver’s license.- Ability to work various shift patterns, including overnights and weekends, often in unexpected overtime situations.
