Echo Sonographer

Kawartha Cardiology is a progressive, fully accredited, state-of-the-art facility serving a large geographic population. There are 7 Cardiologists and over 80 clinical and support staff at KCC. The clinic is outside the Peterborough hospital and works collaboratively with the hospital to provide diagnostic services. We perform transthoracic echocardiograms, exercise and Dobutamine stress echocardiograms, paediatric echocardiograms, and transesophageal echocardiograms.

The successful applicant must be able to perform high quality transthoracic echocardiograms to assess the cardiac structure and function of the heart. They must be able to provide accurate information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.

**Qualification and Relevant Experience**:

- Completion of a recognized post diploma echocardiography program or recognized equivalent.
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with CMRITO.
- Proof of Professional Liability Insurance
- Registration with the American Registry of Medical Diagnostic Sonographers (ARMDS) or Sonography Canada (CARDUP)
- Minimum of one-year recent practical experience in Echocardiography
- Transesophageal Echo, Paediatric Echo and/or Stress Echo experience would be an asset.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently or as a team member.
- Must be able to work effectively with other team members, patients, and family members.
- Demonstrated ability to operate and properly maintain all equipment
- Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize a busy workload in a high-volume area.
- Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.
