Harmony Project Coordinator

**Job Summary**
The Harmony Project Coordinator is responsible for leading a specialized, collaborative, coordinated community response to sexual violence in the Bow Valley. This role will focus on the core non-intervention based priorities of the Harmony Project, including: coordination and collaboration, community education, and the primary prevention of sexual violence.
YWCA Banff is a community-based, feminist organization with over 100 years of experience in Banff and the Bow Valley. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, our organization shapes a safe, inclusive community that empowers women and girls in support of our vision of a thriving, equitable society. The YWCA is funded through grants and donor support.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee development and implementation of prevention strategies that address the root causes of sexual violence, such as gender inequity, discrimination, and harmful social norms.
- Lead all primary prevention delivery, including participating YWCA Banff’s partnership with Shift: The Project to End Domestic Violence at the University of Calgary.
- Re-vitalize the Harmony Project Committee and chair relevant task groups as required.
- Coordinate cross-sector collaboration and communication among key stakeholders (e.g. law enforcement, healthcare, education, nonprofits, businesses, sports) to ensure a unified response to sexual violence.
- Represent YWCA Banff and the Harmony Project at local and regional events, forums, and on committees and networks to raise awareness and foster system-level change.
- Develop and deliver inclusive, trauma-informed outreach initiatives for Sexual Violence Awareness Month and beyond such as workshops, presentations, podcasts and public campaigns to increase community capacity and shift harmful cultural norms.
- Identify gaps in service or access, particularly for marginalized communities disproportionately impacted by gender-based violence.
- Oversee the collection and reporting of program data for evaluation and funding purposes.
**Empowering Our People**
- Participate as a member of the YWCA Banff Community Mobilization team
- Build capacity of community partners and the YWCA Banff team through provision of, or connection to, relevant training
**Building a Secure Funding Model for Future Growth**
- Ensure compliance with Harmony Project’s grant reporting requirements
- Manage program budget and track expenses; report on variance and support annual budget creation.
- Seek opportunities for funding, innovation, and program expansion in collaboration with the Director of Programs and Impact.

- Undergraduate level of education in community development, social work or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sexual violence prevention
- Strong background in partnership-building, stakeholder engagement, and facilitating collaborative initiatives.
- Deep understanding of the social and structural drivers of gender-based violence, particularly in rural and resort communities such as the Bow Valley.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and respond to competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to anti-oppression, equity, and on-going learning in feminist practice.
- Experience with public education/workshop development & facilitation is an asset.
- Experience reporting on government funding is an asset.
- Experience in program evaluation is an asset.
- Experience with communications and public relations strategy & execution is an asset.
- Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities to maintain a high level of functioning and to develop new skills.
**Working at YWCA Banff**
The _Harmony Project Coordinator _is a full-time, year-round position at 37.5 hours per week reporting to the Director of Programs and Impact.
