On The Move Inc is hiring for an ECE or an experienced Child Care Assistant position.

The position is for a ECE or experienced child care assistant working the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm (Monday-Friday). This person will be working in the preschool program with children ranging in ages from 16 months to 5 years. This position will start ASAP and be a term position until May/26 with the possibility of being extended.

The position requires a current criminal record check, child abuse check and emergency first aid training, these can be obtained after being hired.

Experience and flexibility with hours is an asset. Rate of pay is $16-$21.34/hour (this depends on 40 hour childcare training course or equivalent and/or classification). Must be 18 years or older for this position, speak clear and fluent English, and live in Winnipeg.
- Requirements:

- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Ability to engage with children of different ages and abilities.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- CPR and First Aid certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check (criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child abuse check)
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the classroom
- implement age-appropriate and developmental educational activities
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured learning
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with special needs
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Monitor children's behavior and intervene when necessary to ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere

- ability to speak with children and families in fluent and clear English.

Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the childcare center. Experience/knowledge working with children with Autism and ADHD is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 18 months

Pay: $16.00-$21.34 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
