- About the role:
Our team is looking for a Crew Lead to manage the implementation and execution of the established business process for an area in the production operations. You will be responsible for production of your team while upholding GM's purpose and values and ensuring the safe work practices of all its team members.

Assignments will be completed using independent judgment within the limits of the Global Manufacturing System (GMS), focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain awareness of quality standards, communicate department quality goals, and utilizes resources to solve quality issues
- Build and maintain good working relationships with team members, union and management
- Understand and consistently administer the Local Agreement between General Motors and UNIFOR
- Implement and follow systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues
- Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping
- Motivate, train and develop team members to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods
- Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training)

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Follow and ensure compliance to all required Safety Policies and Procedures
- Participate in Safety Observation Tours and Layered Audit process
- Coach and mentor Production Group Leaders
- Lead and participate in Business Plan Deployment process
- Communicate, educate and escalate issues and concerns that may impact production performance
- Create a culture of continuousimprovementacross business metrics(SPQRCE)
- Work closely with UNIFOR to develop a collaborative culture
- Lead or attend production/quality/throughput improvement process meetings
- Engage all levels of the organization to achieve hours per unit.
- Manage daily staffing to ensure Department is resourced appropriately
- Provide direct supervision of hourly team members andtheassociated tasks with running a productiongroup
- Complete performance appraisal requirements for direct reports
- Backfill Shift Leader as required

**Qualifications**:

- Two-year degree or professional certification in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment
- Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate and support team member output
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
- Rotating shifts as required
- Able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from leaders and peers.
