In-home Health Care Supervisor

Reporting to the manager, the incumbent will be responsible for supervising and monitoring the skills of the Health Care team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supervise a small team of Health Care Aides, ensuring proper procedures are followed and excellent care is always the top priority.
- Support client with daily living activities, personal care, and health care tasks, including personal hygiene, oral care, skin care, toileting, and bathing.
- Handle home support duties such as meal preparation, cooking, housekeeping, laundry (including bedding), and shopping.
- Administer prescribed medications to client.
- Assist clients with transfers in and out of bed, wheelchairs, and chairs using one-person or two-person assist, or mechanical lifts as outlined in the client's care plan.
- Monitor and report any changes in client’s functional and cognitive behavior to the appropriate supervisor.
- Monitor any changes in client's appetite and/or fluid intake.
- Perform tasks with a high level of professionalism, expertise, and competency.
- Ensure client's safety and comfort.
- Develop creative and effective solutions to enhance client’s quality of life and wellbeing.
- Accurately and promptly report and document necessary information.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to client's requests and needs.
- Transport and accompany to and from scheduled appointments.
- Assist the manager with payroll, scheduling, delegating work assignments, and ensuring excellent care of the client at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to provide holistic quality care to client.

**Qualifications and Education Requirements**:

- Health Care Aide certificate (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience with Dementia is preferred.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and teamwork skills.
- High attention to detail and thoroughness.
- Ability to provide compassion, empathy, and understanding to clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills through critical thinking and self-education.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including knowledge of proper ergonomics.
- Enthusiastic attitude and energy to deliver excellent care and service on behalf of the company.
- Previous leadership experience in a similar setting.
- Fluent in the English language.
- Strong delegation skills.
- Must be compassionate.
- Able to work full time with a flexible schedule, willing and able to work days, nights, evenings, and weekends.

**Required Skills & Credentials**:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Clear vulnerable sector criminal record check.
- Basic computer literacy.
- LPN certification in Canada (preferred).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour

**Experience**:

- Home Care: 2 years (preferred)
- Leadership: 1 year (preferred)
- Dementia care: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Health Care Aide Certification (preferred)
- Driving Licence (preferred)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
