Shipping/receiving Associate

**JOB SUMMARY & SCOPE**:
Responsible for efficiently managing the movement of goods within the warehouse or distribution center. This includes receiving incoming shipments, inspecting, and recording items, managing inventory, preparing items for shipment, and ensuring compliance with shipping regulations. The role requires attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to coordinate with various stakeholders to facilitate smooth operations.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Verify records on outgoing shipments.
- Prepare items for shipment.
- Determine method of shipment by utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, rates, and routes.
- Attach shipping labels to packages; identify shipping information on goods.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials as well as supplies.
- Handling returns by completing technical documentation and other required communication.
- Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance
- Collaborating with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries and replace damaged products
- May be assigned according to area of specialization.
- Prepare shipping documents and schedule freight pick-ups as required.
- Route freight to provide the most economical transport of goods and to meet customer or other requirements.
- Request freight quotes as necessary from established freight vendors.
- Pick parts and products from appropriate inventory locations in specified quantities as necessary to fill orders by following established procedures.
- Visually monitor inventory levels and communicate low levels to buyers, schedulers, and others as necessary.
- Cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with everyone.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

- Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Escalates issues discovered while performing required tasks.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic computer skills are required.
- Self-starter and motivated to perform effectively during times of high demand.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs without limitations or constraints.
- Exposure to limited amounts of noise.

- Primary language used in daily operations is French. Additional primary company languages include English, Spanish, and Dutch.

**SUPERVISION**:

- Role is not responsible for supervising direct or indirect reports.
