**ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT**:
The Supervisor is responsible to ensure safe, efficient, profitable and timely completion of all RRC Rail Car projects in the Paint Shop. The Supervisor ensures production schedules are met and work is completed in accordance with quality specifications.

**MAJOR DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Supervise unionized staff working in the Refurbishment and Repair division (Paint Shop)
- Supervise all work that needs painting and sandblasting
- Ensure employees work safely and efficiently in a positive work environment
- Provide liaison with customer representatives
- Support Kaizan (continuous improvement) and coach problem resolution
- Responsible for estimating a wide range of paint projects including locomotive, passenger car, procor tankers, freight cars and buses
- Provide task execution training/instruction for unionized staff
- Ensure AAR, DOT and company quality control standards are adhered to by inspecting all completed work
- Perform and document daily safety observations to ensure employees are working in a safe manner and following all applicable procedures

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Secondary School Diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
- Current Certificate of Qualification 310B Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer and served an apprenticeship program or eight years of practical and general experience
- Previous supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized manufacturing setting
- Good analytical and leadership skills
- Must be results oriented and a team player
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Have a solid understanding of collective agreements
- Previous experience supervising project work is an asset
- Knowledge of maintenance and repairs of passenger cars
- Committed to Company Health and Safety
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite
