**RED SEAL METAL FABRICATOR (FITTER) - 437A** **Job Summary** We are looking for the experienced Metal Fabricators-Fitters/Welder for our client in Kitchener, ON for their Structural Steel Fabrication Department. **Duties**: - Lay out, cut and fabricate structural steel, plate, and miscellaneous ferrous and non-ferrous metals including mezzanines, staircases, and handrails. - Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units such as frames, plates, girders and chutes that are used later in the assembly process. - Fasten the fitted assembly completely by welding and bolting as required. - Perform self-check method to ensure quality ("right-the-first time"). - Use material handling and rigging, hoisting and lifting equipment to move materials and completed assemblies. - Manage your time and work accordingly so that all assigned jobs are completed within the estimated time given. - Weld products according to approved procedures and ensure internal quality measures are applied. - Use tools and equipment such as plate rollers, press brakes, saws, iron worker, plate shears, plasma cutters, oxy-fuel cutting torches, - grinders and drills to bend, cut, punch, drill or form metal components. - Pass all on all required MWS welding procedures in accordance with testing requirements set out by CWB. - Organize and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area in a professional and safe manner. - Perform some lifting as required. - Follow all safety rules prescribed by H&S legislation and MWS Solutions Inc. **Skills**: - Be able to visualize in three dimensions, good coordination, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and the ability to perform work-related mathematical calculations. - Read and Interpret fabrication drawings and specifications. - Select the right materials for the job. **Qualifications**: - Red Seal Metal Fabricator (Fitter), or can sufficiently demonstrate equivalent experience. - Experience in structural steel fabrication is preferred. - Experience with fabrication of miscellaneous metals fabrication including handrails, staircases, platforms, and catwalks is preferred. - Experienced in GMAW, MCAW, FCAW and GTAW welding processes. - Current or prior certification using a forklift and telehandler preferred. **Schedule and Hours of Work**: - Monday to Thursday 7AM-4:30PM - Friday 7AM-3:30PM - Overtime as needed. - Weekends as needed. **License/Certification**: - Valid or previously held CWB Certification (required) - 437A Welder/Fitter (Metal Fabricator) Qualification (preferred) - Red Seal Certification (preferred) **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Pay**: From $27.00- $30.00 per hour **Expected hours**: 40 per week **Ability to commute/relocate**: Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work **Experience**: Structural Steel Fitting: 2 years Welding: 2 years **Licence/Certification**: CBW Certification 437A Welder/Fitter (preferred) **Work Location**: In person **Job Type**: Permanent **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - structural steel fabrication: 2 years (preferred) - Metal Fabrication (Fitting): 3 years (preferred) Licence/Certification: - CWB Certificate (required) Work Location: In person
