**About Us**
OTI Lumionics is developing advanced materials—by design—using quantum simulations, machine learning and real-world testing in pilot production. We are currently focused on key enabling materials for OLED displays that will be used in next-generation consumer electronics and automotive. Our advanced electrode materials, and associated manufacturing technology, are being used to build transparent displays and lighting. We work closely with our partners and customers to design new materials that are mass-production ready. Using our computational Materials Discovery Platform, we are able to rapidly iterate new materials, allowing fast turn around time to meet our customers’ needs.
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Performing work related to analytical testing of materials
- Conducting HPLC-UV/Vis, HPLC-ELSD and NMR
- Evaluating analytical data
- Synthesizing and purifying organic materials
- Conducting wet chemistry tests for materials as assigned
- Reporting all testing results and deviations encountered during testing and suggesting appropriate improvements to protocols/methods
- Providing support in the development and optimization of analytical methods/protocols
- Presenting data in an organized and accurate fashion (both verbal and written)
- Maintaining a safe and organized laboratory environment; ensuring the work complies with health and safety standards, and SOPs
- Other ad hoc duties as assigned.
**Profile**
- Recognized education in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, material chemistry, or related field
- BSc with 3-4 years or MSc with 1-2 years experience in a relevant laboratory environment
**Required Skills**
- Knowledge and experience operating instruments such as HPLC, TGA, DSC, UV-Vis, FTIR, MS and NMR
- Knowledge and experience with standard wet chemistry techniques routinely used in a chemistry laboratory setting is an asset
- Familiarity with Method Development and Method Validation is desirable
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant analytical data processing/analyzing programmes
- Knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP is an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Fast learner, flexible, have a strong initiative and can-do spirit
- Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
