Scansa Construction has opportunities for **Carpenters and Carpenter Apprentices** to join our building division on a full-time basis in Victoria, BC.

**Roles and Responsibilities, but not limited to**:

- Construct, assemble, install formwork systems for columns, walls, suspended slabs, slab on grade and concrete stairs.
- Erect Aluma Systems with 4 x 6 suspended slab formwork.
- Understanding, following, and promoting a safe work environment.
- General labour and clean up duties as required.
- Display professionalism always while representing the company.
- Endeavour to be the best, but do it with respect, integrity, and honesty.
- Arrive at work on time, prepared to start shift.

**Skills and Experience considered to be an asset but not required**:

- Installation of all types of concrete formwork.
- Installation of gang panel wall, Steel panels and column forms.
- Construction of concrete and wood stairs.
- Residential carpentry work, framing, doors, windows, siding and trims.
- Training and mentoring fellow workers and apprentices.
- Trades related math and ability to read blueprints.
- Familiar with BC Building Code.

**Qualifications**:

- Red Seal certificate or enrollment in a carpentry program considered an asset but not required.
- Previous experience working with concrete formwork and formwork systems.
- Ability to work on elevated platforms or scaffolding.
- Layout, experience with Total Station and survey equipment an asset but not required.
- Good health and physically fit.

**Work Environment**:

- Working at various jobsites within Victoria, Westshore and Saanich.
- Exposure to changing weather conditions and elements.

**Employment Wages/Incentives**:

- Competitive wages are negotiable based on knowledge, skill and experience.

**Apprenticeship Program**

Scansa offers a Carpentry Apprenticeship opportunity for eligible employees who have completed a 6-month probationary period.
