Lake Excavating Ltd. is currently recruiting Vibratory Compactor Operators to join our growing team within the Cariboo region of British Columbia. These positions offer a rewarding opportunity to work on mining and civil projects and build your career with a fast-growing company.

- Daily Travel provided from Williams Lake to Project Location(s) beyond Williams Lake

**General Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following the procedures and policies that are in place
- Support operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed
- Play a critical role in ensuring your own safety and the safety of others
- Daily 360° inspection of all equipment for operational and safety checks
- Assist with running, maintaining, servicing, and cleaning equipment as required
- Perform work to your greatest ability and of the highest quality
- Assist with HDPE pipe assembling, bolting, moving and maintaining
- Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
- Follow equipment maintenance schedule and advise if repair is required
- Regularly perform Safety inspection of equipment and tools

**Requirements**:

- **Ability to pass mandatory Drug/Alcohol pre-screen and obtain FIT test in advance of employment start date**:

- Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
- Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
- Be safety conscious and extremely comfortable driving in all types of inclement weather to get to and from worksites or point of company-based transportation
- Positive safety behaviours with ability to work safely and effectively while completing and following an FLHA
- Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
- Perform labour tasks when not operating equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and handling up to 50lbs
- 1-3 years’ experience operating a CAT Vibratory Compactor
- Experience operating hand tools, powered hand tools, ancillary equipment, and plate packers/jumping jacks
- Stable work record with preferred experience in an industrial environment preferred
- Mechanical Aptitude and ability to work with various types of powered equipment
- Ability to work both DAY and NIGHT Shifts with unpredictable and/or conflicting deadlines
- Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
- Effective communication and people skills
- Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs

**Location**: Cariboo geographical region of British Columbia - Williams Lake, Mcleese Lake, and Likely, BC
