Job Summary:
The Associate Director, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will play a lead role in HOOPP’s three-year planning process, which requires extensive collaboration with senior management and project leads from across the organization, creating and implementing processes and work plans, and conveying key messages to management and the Board of Trustees via meaningful reporting.

The role will also play a lead role in implementing and evolving cost allocations processes and reporting for the organization, including defining a practical and effective methodology to allocate costs across divisions, investment strategies, and pension activities at HOOPP. This will require liaising with management in all areas of the organization to ensure that allocations are fair, clearly understood, and provide meaningful insights to support management decision-making.

This role will also provide financial oversight for projects, lead HOOPP’s participation in cost benchmarking activities with peer funds, and lead reporting efforts for the Board of Trustees on behalf of the FP&A department with support and direction from the Director.

In support of these primary objectives, the role will lead and direct a Senior Analyst and other temporary resources as required. This includes recruiting, overseeing and prioritizing work assignments, establishing training plans and annual objectives and providing feedback on a continuous basis.

What you will do:
Operational Planning:
- In partnership with the Director, FP&A and the Office of the Chief Operating Officer, lead HOOPP’s operational planning process and develop the organization’s Three-Year Operating Plan ensuring it identifies key initiatives to advance strategic priorities, outlines resource requirements, and incorporates key metrics and benchmarking to support the assessment of cost effectiveness.- Provide senior management with meaningful reporting summarizing the outputs of the planning process including cost and headcount requirements, to inform prioritization and decision-making.- Lead the development of the annual Finance divisional plan, providing a detailed view of the division’s operating priorities, initiatives, costs, headcount requirements, and audit engagements.- In partnership with the Director, continuously review and refine the three-year planning process to ensure it remains relevant to the organization’s evolving needs.- Regularly assess and update technology supporting the operational planning process to ensure it remains current, intuitive for users, and aligned with process goals.- Work with the Office of the Chief Operating Officer to lead and enhance quarterly operating plan update reporting for the Audit & Finance (A&F) Committee, ensuring it highlights key organizational achievements, project milestones, financial forecasts, and performance indicators.- Collaborate with other divisions to prepare engaging updates on the operating plan throughout the year to improve staff awareness of major initiatives and highlight organizational achievements.

Cost Allocations:
- Lead HOOPP’s cost allocation processes by collaborating with key stakeholders across the organization to define cost pools, develop appropriate allocation methodologies, and ensure accurate allocation of cost to investment strategies, pension activities, and other key business activities.- Find practical solutions when working with multiple senior level stakeholders with differing points of view.- Build relationships and partner with Senior Leaders across the organization to support the identification of appropriate cost drivers, explain methodology and champion the benefits of HOOPP’s cost allocations program.- Lead the development and delivery of cost allocations reporting for senior management, cost owners and
