Pipe Loader Operator

Comco is currently looking for an experienced **Pipe Loader Operator**to fill a day shift of Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 6pm.
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Pipe Yard Foreman, the Pipe Loader Operator is directly responsible for the handling of pipe in the yard in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner according to Comco & customer requirements, while ensuring general cleanliness, safety, and quality guidelines are met. This responsibility includes picking, shipping, receiving, and storage of pipe with a pipe loader machine. This position will also cut & bevel pipe, when required.
**Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Safely picks, packages, and tags pipe for orders, in a timely response;
- Load and unload pipe from trailers by use of John Deere 544K equipment;
- Record all product heat numbers and manufacturers;
- Ensure pipe yard is free of debris and hazards;
- Communicate any pipe shorts or errors directly to the Pipe Yard Foreman;
- Assist in resolving the problems when required;
- Cut pipe to specific customer and work order requirements;
- Bevel the ends of pipe, as required;
- May perform other activities such as assisting in inventory;
- Participate in clean-up and pre-inspection of equipment.
**Requirements**:
- **Education**:High School Diploma;
- **Heavy Equipment Operator Experience**:minimum 3 years related machine experience. Must have experience handling pipe with large equipment;
- **Driver's License**: Valid Class 5 Alberta license (must have);
- Clean Driver's Abstract;
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift;
- Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently;
- Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
- Knowledge of safe lifting and handling techniques;
- Basic mathematical skills;
- Must be able to carry and move product and/or supplies in excess of 50lbs;
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity;
- **Consent to a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).**
