FRAFCA Policy Analyst - Full-time (12 month contract)

**Salary: $ 75,000 - 90,000 per annum**

The Fraser Region Aboriginal Friendship Centre Association is a non-profit organization that provides a diverse range of culturally safe and supportive services to Indigenous people in Surrey and the Fraser Salish region. **Job description for FRAFCA Policy Analyst**
**Responsibilities**:
- **Research & Analysis**:Conduct in-depth research on FRAFCA programs and assess community needs through a decolonial and equity-driven lens. Analyze social, economic, political, and health-related issues—particularly in areas related to community and social services such as housing, youth services, family development, wellness and trauma-response, early years, and Indigenous health systems—to inform policy development and advance health equity for urban Indigenous communities.
- **Policy Development**: Draft policy documents ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with FRAFCA’s vision, mission, policies and current government frameworks.
- **Strategic Planning**: Contribute to, and actively participate in the preparation of operational strategic plans based on FRAFCA’s strategic objectives and organizational goals.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as directors, program managers, etc. within FRAFCA; and external stakeholders such as funders, government (municipal, provincial, federal), First Nations, Métis & Inuit _organizations, leadership, and communities_ to discuss policy impact, and present proposals and recommendations to the Director of Strategic Innovation (DSI) or to the external stakeholders through the DSI, as needed.
- **Research**: Coordinate and collaborate with the FRAFCA’s Leadership team (Program Managers and Directors) to gather necessary data; and present the findings of the research, with recommendations to the Executive Leadership team (ED, DPS & DSI)
- **Resource & Partnership Development**: Identify and pursue funding, partnerships, and health resources to enhance FRAFCA’s services across health, housing, culture, education, and employment. Promote best practices for Indigenous health equity in partnership with funders and program leads.
- **External Stakeholder Communication**: Work closely with FRAFCA’s Communications Officer (or delegate) to ensure prompt and effective communication with external partners. This includes crafting timely responses to announcements from provincial and federal governments, as well as funders—advocating strongly for equitable representation, funding, and resource allocation for FRAFCA.
- **Public Awareness and Outreach**: Enhance FRAFCA’s visibility and online presence by developing and implementing innovative, strategic approaches to social media engagement and public awareness campaigns.
- **Reporting**: Prepare clear and detailed reports, briefing notes, position papers, and policy recommendations for internal teams, government partners, and external stakeholders. Present research findings and strategic recommendations to support FRAFCA’s goals of promoting equity and culturally responsive services.
- **Committee & Working Group Participation**:Represent FRAFCA on government tables, committees, and working groups as needed, contributing to policy discussions and advocating for the needs of Indigenous communities.
