Bakery Clerk-pt

**Buy Low Foods**has an opening for a **Bakery Clerk** at our location in **Burnaby Kings Crossing**, **BC**. This role is **Part-Time** and reports to the Store Manager.

Clerks are responsible for providing fast and friendly service to customers in our busy grocery store.

**Job duties and responsibilities**:

- Provide superior customer service to all guests
- Efficiently stock and display product in a neat and appealing manner
- Ensure a clean and sanitary environment
- Assist guests with product recommendations and locations, requests, and special orders
- Deal with customer concerns and/or complaints
- Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers
- Assist in receiving, unloading and stocking of merchandise
- Merchandise, price, label and stock all bakery products
- Ensure accuracy of store signage with regards to pricing
- Willingness to cross train and work in the Deli department and possibly others: Meat, Produce, Cashier, Customer Service
- To perform other duties and tasks assigned, as consistent with the nature and scope of the position

**Skills and qualifications**:

- At least one year of retail or customer service experience
- Prior bakery knowledge/experience is an asset
- Minimum high school diploma
- Food safety certification preferred
- Above average interpersonal and communication skills
- Superb customer service skills with a desire to provide a great shopping experience for customers
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a safe and responsible manner
- Work well independently or in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness and availability to work varied shifts including early morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays if necessary
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and handle up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Proven track record as a self-starter; dedicated and goal orientated
- Ability to follow established company policies
- Excellent command of the English language both verbal and written

**Experience**:

- Food Counter Attendants: 1 year (preferred)
- Baking: 1 year (preferred)
