Vice President, Content Strategy

**Overview & Responsibilities**:
We are seeking a VP, Content Strategy & Programming to lead the content strategy, acquisitions, and programming for Paramount+ for Canada

This is a key role on the international streaming content team that will help define and carry out our content proposition and channel/programming strategy for Canada. The VP, Content Strategy & Programming will lead the Paramount+ and the Pluto content teams while working closely with a wide range of teams including Acquisitions, Marketing, Finance, Content Operations, Business Affairs, and Legal. This individual will also work closely with the larger global Paramount+ and Pluto content teams to partner on pan-regional acquisitions and overall programming strategies and to share best practices.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Define and lead the content strategy for Paramount+ and Pluto, optimizing Paramount Global’s content assets, global and local acquisitions, and local original productions
Coordinate closely with the local VP Marketing and VP Distribution of Streaming
Oversee the local content budget directing that investment to boost subscriber growth
Manage a team of 4 individuals (Acquisitions, P+ Programming, Pluto Programming and Original Productions). Direct reports are all strong leaders - VP will need to provide leadership that allows the team to continue to grow and develop
Understand the video streaming industry and competitive landscape, defining Paramount’s unique place in the market
Work with the US Linear (MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon etc.) and the US and International Streaming teams to improve internal brands and content and to coordinate any 3rd party acquisitions
Approve local content plans that support the international streaming strategy by working with the local teams and defining key tentpoles
Partner with local brand content teams to develop innovative windowing strategies that leverage our investment and drive growth in streaming
Evolve and implement the editorial vision to drive growth and engagement for our international audience, while responding to cultural and consumer trends & business needs
Oversee Regulatory and Heritage requirements relating to the Streaming Services
Manage and prioritize the content volume and composition to be delivered by Content Ops (volume of content for uploading, managing inventory, and churning library) through VP Distribution and Streaming
Coordinate monthly content plan with VP Marketing to ensure alignment and marketing priorities to support key content

**Basic Qualifications**:
Bachelor's degree and/or related experience; Master’s degree a plus
10+ years of experience in increasingly senior roles overseeing diverse and growing content businesses, ideally in multi-platform and/or digital first/streaming organizations
Prior experience and success in developing and/or overseeing multicultural content offerings and working with diverse talent/content producers
Extensive knowledge and familiarity with the digital media landscape, including strong relationships in the industry and demonstrable thought leadership in digital content strategies
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new software systems and tools, adapting to changes and embracing new technologies that improve efficiency and productivity
