It serves as a regional hub with a main trading area involving over 11,000 people. The town has a wide assortment of community facilities including an elementary/junior high school, a composite high school, a library, twin arenas, an aquatic centre, a performing arts theatre, and much more. The area also has a few golf courses and is close to Buffalo Lake. As a successful Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a team as well as working individually in a self-motivated environment that is always changing. Adhering to the provided care plan that has been established in collaboration with the client, family and members of the interdisciplinary team will support you in your every changing environment. Expanding your knowledge as an HCA is important, which means participating in education and local home care office initiatives. You have an opportunity to contribute as part of the interdisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent creativity and resourcefulness with the ability to think on your feet with little direction. You will need to have great time management and organization abilities in order to balance different priorities at once. Being able to provide friendly and sincere emotional support by being a good listener and interacting in a positive and optimistic manner is critical to ensuring patient centered care as an HCA.

Description:
As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team providing personal assistance including supporting activities of daily living and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support, in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. In this position you will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities assisting nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs, assisting with organized activities or programs and observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing. Working under a regulated health professional you will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.
