The **Marketing Specialist, Merchandising (Paint & Flooring) **is a champion of our customers and of our brand. They help to plan and implement all marketing activities within the softlines marketing portfolio and are empowered to lead cross-functional teams to deliver on marketing objectives. They play a key role in bringing to market new customer marketing strategies and optimizing current campaigns to improve performance. The Marketing Specialist’s role is to help customers throughout their project needs, whether Do-it-Yourselfers (DIY) or Pros (General contractors or trades), while ensuring that our communications showcase our greatest innovation, values, value and knowledge and know-how stories.
**Position Responsibilities**:
In this role, the **Marketing Specialist, Merchandising (Paint & Flooring)** will develop their marketing skills to:
- Actively contribute to the Marketing team in a collaborative and meaningful way that helps to support, inspire, and motivate fellow colleagues, direct reports, and managers alike
- Build close, collaborative, meaningful working relationships with key business partners to understand and influence business and marketing strategies, priorities, and direction to support business objectives
- Build out production briefs to support their campaigns
- Provide timely and relevant customer-back feedback on their campaign creative and content
- Make Pro & DIY campaign recommendations for their portfolio by evaluating insights, competitive reviews and marketing performance.
- Partner with the Planning Team to execute category marketing strategies across various channels.
- Partner with the Merchandising team to select product and projects for traditional and digital marketing channels.
- Partner with Merch Marketing and Brand team colleagues to both explore and leverage opportunities for cross-category, capabilities and creative platform integrations

**Experience Required**
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent in related field, preferably in business, marketing or retail
- 2+ years of previous marketing experience.
- Retail experience is an asset
- Proficiency in building brand narratives and translating them into compelling presentations
- Strong Microsoft skills - Excel, Powerpoint
