Handi- Van Driver

The Ponoka Wheelchair Van Society is currently accepting resumes for a **Casual Handi-Van Driver.** The position is for holiday and sick leave coverage. The successful applicant would be responsible for the safe transportation of patrons to both in and out of town appointments. Applicants must exemplify care and consideration when assisting the elderly and persons with disabilities with their transportation needs. **Rate of Pay: $20.86**

**Training will include.**
- Safe use and operation of vehicles
- Use of Safety Equipment
- Maintenance Program
- First Aid/CPR
- Relevant requirements of Traffic Safety Act including,

Hours or Service, daily trip inspection, and load securement (wheelchair and mobility devices)
- a copy of their current driver’s license and 5-year commercial drivers abstract as well as a medical certificate if appropriate (Our Handi-vans are 11 passenger and therefore require a minimum class 4 license)
- Current Criminal Record Check
- Proof of immunization against Covid-19
- Please note: Ponoka Handi-Van Society requires staff to be immunized against Covid-19 and may also require additional immunizations in future, to comply with policies regarding protection of clientele. _
