**Position Summary**:
Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss the structure and function of all cell organelles found in prokaryotes, archaea and eukaryotes.
- Explain the subcellular trafficking mechanisms associated with the endomembrane system.
- Define cellular energy flow during both respiration (in the mitochondria) and photosynthesis (in the chloroplasts).
- Describe different cellular movements, cytoskeletal systems, cell adhesions, cell junctions and extracellular structures found in animal and plant cells.
- Discuss signal transduction process in animal cells through electrical/synaptic signaling and chemical messengers and receptors.
- Describe the cell cycle and explain how each stage is regulated under different circumstances.
- List and briefly describe the principles behind current techniques/methods used in cell and molecular biology.
- Explain the process of cancer development and define the genes involved in the process.
- Discuss SARS-CoV2 biology and COVID-19 pathogenesis in the context of cell biology concepts and principles.
