Full-time Neurosurgeon - Complex Spine
The neurosurgical group provides emergent, acute and ambulatory neurosurgical consultation, care and intervention for the adult population of the Fraser Health Authority which has a population of approximately 2 million people. The Fraser Health Authority includes municipalities that are anticipated to have significant population growth.
The neurosurgeon must be qualified to practice within the entire scope of adult general clinical neurosurgery including cranial and spinal surgery, trauma and oncology. The neurosurgeon is expected to provide patient care and expertise for the diagnosis and treatment of complex spinal conditions including degenerative, oncology and trauma. The neurosurgeon is expected to contribute to policies, protocols and lend their expertise to neurosurgical colleagues in the management of complex spinal conditions.
The neurosurgeon will be expected to participate in the rotating call rotation with the existing neurosurgical group (six neurosurgeons). OR time allocation will initially be a blended mix of elective time at ERH and initially a reduced allocation at RCH prior to completion of the RCH Redevelopment. Once the new RCH Redevelopment is in place, OR allocation will be adjusted when increased bed and OR capacity becomes available.
Compensation is fee for service, as well as on call stipend (MOCAP) and you may receive additional income from WorkSafeBC. At this time, no other direct remuneration is anticipated from the Fraser Health Authority and they do not guarantee nor supplement minimum income levels.
