**Job Summary**:
The Health Information Specialist is responsible for conducting health record acquisition, curation, and quality assurance of a client’s health information. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to VITALL’s unique acquisition and curation processes through organized and accessible health information management.
You’re a detail-oriented, clinically-focused, and trusted communicator, who is a great problem solver. You love addressing information gaps, and assessing quality standards to ensure an executive client experience. You are collaborative and thrive in a growing team environment. You can balance day-to-day workload, and are flexible when adjustments arise, with an eye for future improvements of workflow processes. You will employ best practices in customer service, information management, and quality assurance to achieve the highest quality of executive service for our client base.
**Responsibilities**:
- Handle the acquisition and review of medical records, ensuring at all times accuracy, completeness, legibility, and traceability of health information
- Initiate, follow, and complete the entire internal process for acquiring medical records, including document preparation and regular follow ups with sources
- Professional and responsive communication with executive clients
- Proactive communication with other departments (Development, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to troubleshoot issues
- Maintain strict confidentiality of records and client information
- Ensure ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements
- Participate in regular privacy and security training
- Adherence to company policies, following all privacy and security protocols
- Support VITALL’s sales efforts, including responding to leads, and promoting VITALL to potential clients as required
- Strong organization and time management skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Clearly communicate with the team through our productivity tools
- Other job-related duties may be assigned as required
**Qualifications**:
- Health Information Management diploma or equivalent
- Training or experience in a clinical, nursing, or medical science-related setting is an asset
- Proficiency with medical record abstraction
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of information management
- Able to work with clinical personnel and corporate clients to obtain necessary health information
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong organizational skills, and meticulous attention to detail
- Proven history of excelling in a team-based, collaborative environment
- Knowledge/experience with the French language is an asset

**Salary**: $56,000.00 per year
