**Primary Duties**

Reporting to the Supervisor of Services and Gas Operations, the Serviceperson will conduct and ensure safe installation, removal of natural gas & water metering equipment.
The incumbent will conduct, inspect, and light gas appliances and, where necessary, issue and follow up on hazard reports as per the Natural Gas and Propane Code B149 and Ontario Regulation 212/01 (TSSA). The incumbent will also perform leak detection on all gas distribution equipment.

**Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required**
- Minimum Grade 12 Diploma & a minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant field of work.
- Experience in a utility’s environment will be considered an asset.
- Gas Technician 2 (G2) or G3 certification, as recognized by the Technical Standards and must have a good working knowledge of the Natural Gas and Propane Code B149.
- Leadership, team player, organized, resourceful and self-directed.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Electrical and basic plumbing experience is an asset.
- Basic Computer Skills are required.

**Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment**
- Maintain at minimum a valid “G” driver’s license and appropriate Gas Technician Certification throughout employment.
- All other tasks as required.
